Need help correcting my essay. I got a D grade for my final paper. Please help…?
My paper is about Salvador Dali. I need help correcting it and I got a D grade on it. Need help referencing it because my teacher says I did not reference and did not give credit to my sources and that I just plagerized it. Need help to make it better to get my grade up. Born in Figueres, Spain, ?Salvador Dali remains one of the most famous painters of the 20th century?s surrealist artist?. One of his great paintings was, ?The Persistence of Memory? 1931, Oil on canvas, and ?Soft Watch at the Moment of First Explosion? which is two of the paintings that I just admired because of its many details and how it looks so much like a dream is fascinating. What was he thinking when he made these paintings was what I thought. It is just a beautiful painting that you can just stand there and look at for hours and wonder about what was his point in making this painting.
"Salvador Dali was an extremely talented surreal painter who completed many beautiful works such ?The Persistence of Memory? that in the foreground, a sort of amorphous self portrait of Dali seems to melt. Three separate melting watch images even out the foreground of the work. The melting watches are one symbol that is commonly associated with Salvador Dali ’s Surrealism, and ?Soft Watch at the Moment of First Explosion? that explains the Melting watches and insects against a Spanish coastal background are two of the trademark symbols Salvador Dali uses in the expression of the destruction of atomic weapons. When looking at these two paintings one thinks of they are literally meant to show the irrelevance of time. For Dali he felt that time had little, perhaps no significance for him or to him. He was inspired with the idea for the melting watches. They appear often throughout his works, and are the subject of much interest. Dali painted these images to be interpreted by the individual in different ways.
Dali became a leader of the Surrealist Movement. This painting of soft or melting watches is still one of the best-known surrealist works of his time and to this day.
Dali worked in all media, leaving behind a wealth of oils, watercolors, drawings, graphics, and sculptures, films, photographs, performance pieces, jewels and objects of all descriptions.
?Dali was a Surrealist because he used his dreams as a source of inspiration, which was a famous Surrealist technique. Dali used his gift for drawing to offer a pictorial representation of his psyche: memories, phobias, dreams, obsessions and more or less conscious feelings were all combined in an almost fantastic, unique composition.?
Surrealist paintings often depict unexpected or irrational objects in an atmosphere or fantasy, creating a dreamlike scenario. However the point of surrealism was to use fantastic images and to position things in unusual ways in order to represent unconscious ideas and desires. It creates a stretch in thinking and perceiving. Its absurdity makes us stop and pause and consider the work and what it means. Dali also used some of his dreams to interpret some of his paintings into incredible paintings. The soft watch is just one example of surrealism. A common and rigid object is transformed on the canvas in a way we have not seen before, and positioned next to objects that would normally not be seen together, in order to express particular concepts or invoke certain thoughts.
This painting "The Persistence of Memory? painted in 1931 is regarded as the most important work of art from the Surrealist movement by many artists. There are multiple reasons as to why I chose this piece of art work. First, I like this painting because I like the use of variety in colors in the art work. In addition, I like how there are a few pictures within the picture itself. There is more than just one clock; there are several that explain something about time. This painting is introduced in a very appealing compositional way. It shows four soft watches, one of which has a fly on it and another is being devoured by ants. This is widely seen as a commentary that time is less rigid than people usually assume. In the center of the picture, under the watch in the center is a face of the painter himself, Salvador Dali. I suppose he put his face in his painting because he could and it must have been because it was in his dream or just an illusion. I thought the artist himself may have had a particular purpose in mind; but the viewer may come to different conclusions about his paintings. In this painting, we are drawn to consider time in various ways, particularly ways we are not used to viewing it in.
He was a brilliant artist to be able to paint the dream world so "realistically". The fact that most of his work has the look of a dream, or a nightmare puts him aside from other artists, and styles. He was considered as the most top famous surrealist painter of his time. Dali was not only a Painter but an Artist and the sad thing is his paintings were not famous when he was alive, until after he died his paintings were famous and worth a lot of money.
His work is popular amongst modern society as well as art enthusiasts and often interweaves bizarre and thought-provoking ideas with abstract images, many of these symbolizing dreams and fantasies. His paintings explore the connection between reality and fantasy, and he once described his own work as "hand painted dream photographs".
A lot of people refer to Dali as crazy painter or that he has mental problems, but the real truth is that Dali is a genius. Just because he thinks different from everyone else, do not mean he has mental problems. He was just very fascinated by the fleeting state of the mind between sleep and consciousness, dream and reality, sanity and insanity, as one in which the mind functioned purely. Dali was a man who was ahead of the average thinker. He tried to enlighten us with his visions of the world. Nobody will ever know what exactly Dali was trying to portray in his paintings. Since he had let his subconscious influence his paintings and I?m sure that only he understands what is going on in his art. His works leave people wondering and thinking of some sense that must be in the picture.
I think Salvador Dali was one heck of an artist, and his masterworks were phenomenal. The fact that most of his work has the look of a dream, or a nightmare puts him aside from other artists, and styles. Anything that happened in his life was reflected in his art. Therefore his excellence as a creative artist will always set a standard for the art of the twentieth century.

and then go back through the paper and everywhere you have quotes you must put in parenthises behind it (Works Cited 1)… etc.

Second of all, change your whole first sentance. Don’t use a Quotation as your opening sentance - try something like this:

I really had to stop and wonder what he was thinking when he painted them. They are so beautiful and really touch a place in your heart. I don’t have time to re write the rest of it, but you basically take quotes from the books to make up your paragraphs. ONE sentance or two is ok, a whole paragraph is not. You need to change these words into your own. study the quotes and figure out what they mean and then change it to sound like you read it and are telling her about what you read. Like if you watch a movie and tell your friend about it, you don’t quote the whole movie, right? Good luck! Make sure you reference the quotes you do use like I said, and don’t use more than one or two sentances in quotes per paragraph.

What is my stalkers intentions?
It’s almost been a year now and I’m still being stalked. It all started when I bought my first place and moved in.At first it was stuff like feeling watched and dead animals and bones thrown up thru a hole in the floor{replaced now}.At the beginning it was stuff like knocking on my mobile home and trying to give chicken bones to my pets.I began finding BK bags and wrappers in my yard and on my porch..At first I thought maybe someone was messing around and they was not nice to animals.It continued and still is happening tho. As time went on it’s gotten worse! Anything from making it so I couldn’t use my phone to trying to blow up my lawn mower {which at the time my b/f had been doing the mowing for me latly} to trying to sneak up on my man from behind in the woods {while my bf was trying to get a visual by hiding in the woods/bushes} to DEAD wrote in the snow to cutting my porch light to feeling watched then finding foot prints on my porch where the stalker had been at my door watching thru the blind {got new blind} to smiley sticker on my dogs tag from where he’d pottyed outside to part of a newspaper article attached to my cats coller{unreadable by the time I seen it} to unplugging my heat tape so my lines busted to being seen laying by my home from neighbors across the rd.{got away} to my bfs nephew seeing a man in the dark standing across the rd. staring at my place {he’s a kid got scared and ran inside my place where I was} to cutting my porch light while it was on and I was home alone to attempting my door knob multiple times to punching and leaving dents in the side of my home {when I’d been gone for days} to saying HEY outside my home so we heard it inside and responding in other ways too…and more…He doesn’t fear a knife or motion lights/porch light or big dog or cops {which said I must get a visual which I have not been able to} or camera’s because he avoids them {must see them put up during day which means he watches…I don’t understand why this is happening or his intentions…Sometimes he just bangs on the trailer and other times he tries to get inside…He hasn’t attempted to break my glass in the door yet but keyword YET! I think he doesn’t want neighbors to hear it shatter…At times he gets under my mobile home and just listens to me { I know b/c he moves underpinnings and sometimes I hear him do it!}…It takes the cops 30-40 minutes to get to my place and he may have my line tapped or hear me call even when I whisper??He is gone by the time they show…They always say the same things get a visual and really aren’t helping me! I know the guy is approx 5′11-6′3 and he wears about a 10-11 1/2 mens shoe…I know hes slick and fast..maybe military training?? I don’t understand what he wants because he does some strange things. I want to know his intentions and how am I suppose to catch him when I’ve tried steak outs with no luck-big dog-motion lights-cameras & much more…I am feeling like this may not end until something bad happens to me and if that be the case some of the blame should go back to the cops I think…I’m frustrated and at times scared…I’ve got flashlights-mace-baseball bats-knifes and considering a gun…Anyone have helpful advice or better yet a idea on his intentions or how to catch this guy???
Oh yeah and others have witnessed this and no luck catching him…many witnesses to the actions…this guy is mega slick…I tried not staying alone or barly staying there and that did not work..Anyone been thru something like this? ANYONE??? I have support and people trying to help {friends/bf & his fam and my dad tried once} NO LUCK! I’m lost on what to do and what his intentions are. I know this is a hard question. I have no place left to turn with cops not helping me. They really should take this more seriously I think…I’ve logged most the events too…the cops have copies and updates…they just say w/o a visual they can’t help…
I’ve tried traps well the ones I can do without hurting my pets or a stray that is out and about.He’s tripped over one before and stepped in animal feces purposly placed there but no help..It was funny that he stepped in the poop tho…lol…Unfortuntatly this is no laughing matter tho and the cops are no help!
Anyone dealt with something like this before or know a lawyer for more advice? Although, I doubt theres much more that he/she would say to me than I’ve already figured for myself. As far as the comment from Kevin goes—this is real..if you check I’ve been asking for help in other questions for months now…and I’m too busy to make something like this up—I’m using Yahoo Answers because I’ve done so much already and tons of research so I am hoping someone has something more to help me learn about my stalker. I live with this daily and it’s no fun. I want to catch this guy and get my life back! What, if anything, has Hugo Chavez done to harm the people of Venezuela and their quality of life?
This is a serious question. I’ve been reading up on the guy, and it seems that he is everything the United States and its Presidents are not. (He cares about his people, impliments legitimate programs to help those people, rejects the idea of a hierarchy enabled by class stratification, has given his people the power of true freedom of speech, etc.) Seems pretty much like a "what you see is what you get" kind of guy (or at least to whatever extent that is possible being in his position). So I’m wondering, what is the darker side? Is there one? And please, spare me the anti-socialist, pro-American mouth diarrhea. I’m also not looking for his failed policies or anything like that. Every leader has them, regardless of where they fall on the decency to total scum spectrum. I’m looking for his intentions behind what he does. To me, he seems like the kind of leader that could actually ignite world wide change if enough people followed his lead, and either stood up to the US, or took their red, white and blue blindfold off. I guess I feel like that’s too good to be true, and somewhere in there must be some shady activities. I’d really like to be wrong. Any OBJECTIVE info would be great. Thanks.

how can i let him know how i feel?
well there’s this guy that i like. lets call him eric. he’s really nice, funny, and sweet and just, like everything. like he has the softest brown hair and the nicest brown eyes and he just seems like he’s the best guy ever. and even though he has his flaws, he’s still a good guy. well me and one of my best friends like him. all three of us are in marching band together and i’ve liked him since around the beginning of marching band, but she’s only liked him since around decemberish, plus she always likes other guys too. all three of us are friends too, but i dont have any classes with him, she has a class with him, and the only time that i can ever get to talk to him is in the mornings in the band room(since lots of my friends and i go ther to just hang out in the morning, and to drop off our instruments).
i was think that maybe he liked me in the beginnning of the school year and then he , you know, started to grow on me and i started to like him too. for example, after marching band practice, he chased me all the way to the band room from our practice field, after a long day of practice(which was like a looong way) trying to get me with his open water bottle. i out ran him, but i was soo tired afterwards because i was carrying an instrument! then like during our school’s bonfire, i was carrying my instrument with a couple of my friends to the band roomfrom the bonfire(because our marching band was going to play at the bonfire later on that night,and my crappy case had to come open. so then eric helped me along with my friends to put my trombone and stuff back in. what i didnt realize was that eric had taken my mouthpiece, so wheni got inside to put together my instrument, i didnt have a mouth piece. so i started asking around if anyone had seen it fall out and then eric told me that he had put it out in the field next to the band room. so then my friend chris helped me go look for and after about 5 6 minutes of looking, chris told me just totell our band director and so we went back inside and then when i went over to eric(who was by my trombone) to tell him that i’m gonna have to ask the director to borrow a mouthpiece, he asked me if i had looked inside my case again. so o looked and there it was. he put it back into my case when i went outside to look for it. then after we had performed and everyone was allowed to go home unless they wanted to stay until the end of the bonfire, i was walking with my frined chirs over to it and then eric and a couple of his friends(who are also my friends) came and ‘attacked’ me and getting me down to the the field by the band room while eric was yelling get her "down the hill!" trying to take my bag(which had my marching band stuff, my wallet, and my phone in it) and the rest of them were ambushing me. i eventually go my bag after chasing eric down and then went back with chris to walk to the bonfire. all of this happened around september-octoberish and now that marching band is over, it’s hard to get to talk to him.
i think that he might have just a little bit of feelings for me, you know, just by the way he talks to me. plus he still teases me but he’s still really nice to me too. i just want him to know that i have feelings for him, but i dont know how to tell him. one of my other friends, she told me that i should just talk to him more and more and become even better friends with him and then tell him how i feel. i would like to become even better friends with him, but i’m just afraid that after getting to know each other more and becoming "better freinds" will just make him think of me only as a friend… i just need some advice and stuff, jut to let him know because i really like him and i just want him to know.

Why so much hate for Roma Gypsies In Britain?
Britain is fast becoming the "The New Germany" a Third Reich, the newspapers constantly target Roma Gypsies has the major cause of all crime, domestic and social, Roma are falsely accused of murder, rape, kidnapping, along with theft and even setting up home away from society on our own land away from society that hates us, is becoming a major crime.

Does this give the British the right to hate us?
The simple truth is the cannot justify this kind of Nazi like behaviour toward us, why? well, without being racist let’s look at other minorities in Britain today.
First and foremost we have Muslim extremist teaching that "English are pigs in a mosque in London" then there was he incident with tha Danis Cartoons, the hate that spewed from the Islamic mouth was phenomenal.
Then there are the Blacks, often caught carrying knives, OFTEN using them. But you NEVER EVER hear a politician or the newspapers run THEM down.

Was Jesus just another Doomsday Cult Leader?
Over the history of mankind there have been a generous assortment of ridiculous eccentric weird wacked out bizarre cult leaders who were all obviously a few fries short of a Happy Meal. But I?m not talking about just your run of the mill fanatical narcissistic bozo control freaks. I?m talking about nut jobs that in the end joined hands with their followers to do the hara-kiri boogie (suicide).

These guys all eventually become so spoiled and full of themselves that the current world just isn?t enough for them. So they dream of an end to their current world and taking things to the next level in a new and improved sparkling fantasy world. To that end, they all convince themselves and their worshippers that an apocalypse is coming.

Cult leaders attract and captivate followers because they are always good at one thing: massaging people?s psychological needs to make them feel good about themselves. This has the effect of getting followers to eventually make huge sacrifices for them including their money, their family ties, their bodies, and ultimately their lives.

Common attributes of doomsday cult leaders

-Tends to recruit vulnerable people by making them feel good about themselves.

-Separates people from their families out of the cult leader?s need to be the absolute and only center of everyone?s lives.

-Takes their money and possessions.

-Appears to perform miracles.

-Convinces followers that he (the cult leader) is special or divine and that previous religious writings were about him.

-Wants to control every detail of the follower?s lives.

-Moves their followers around from place to place.

–Eventually predicts there will be some dramatic war that wipes out everyone or the world will end someday and they will all go to a new fantasy world where the cult leader will rule on a grander scale. Their dysfunctionality ultimately escalates to the point where they command their followers to commit murder and/or suicide.

This is probably a pattern that has repeated itself since the dawn of civilization. Some of the latest and most well known of these wastes of space were Charlse Manson, Jim Jones, and David Koresh. All of these people had groups of mesmerized robots who either followed them to their graves or to jail.

So didn’t Jesus also fit the above criteria?

- gets kids off the streets, as they will be learing to drive
- More jobs as driving teachers

Yes, some of it are the minor signs for the Day of Judgement, mentioned by prophet(s.a.w). And indeed it is becoming harder and harder for believers to follow Islam (another minor sign).
