I would suggest registering into JeepForum.com, NAXJA.org, or Pirate4×4.com, these are a few of the popular networks wheelers are on. Many of which are always willing to help each other out for dirt cheap if not free given you are nearby or pay their way. Otherwise great place to gain knowledge or help with your Jeep.

That being said, first try to find a Jeep Comanche rear cab, this will make welding it into your cut up rear easier than entirely custom fab. Try looking on Ebay.com Car-Parts.com or a local junkyard. After you have that it’s pretty much cut out and weld back in with some cleanup and minor fabrication.

This is important — You are going to be highly suggested to fabricate a roll cage during this. Without the rear hatch and the rear framing of the body, you’ve weakened the entire body, especially if you take the doors off.

I would not pay for this to be done in a shop unless you have cash for both the chop job, labor, and a roll cage. Otherwise you’ve left yourself lighter in the wallet for less safety.

I am guessing it cost around $500 between the back of the truck cab and the steel and flat black paint. That’s parts now labor well it could be a weekend or a couple of weeks depending on how much experience they had as for a shop going to (guess) 20 hours in labor(at $70).

You do realize that "bed" is like 2 feet long right? You can still find Jeep Comanche trucks out there that have a frame instead of a uni-body.

Here I found you one.
