Jury Duty Poll: What's a good way not to get picked for a jury?
I’m trying to get out of serving my civic duty.
lol Last time I was called for jury duty I told the defense attorney his client must be guilty or we wouldn’t be there. The police don’t just arrest people for no good reason jeesh.
Tell them that you are not prejudiced, that you hate everyone equally. And that it shouldn’t take getting arrested for someone to be eligible for the death penalty - mere suspicion should be enough.
This will probably get you oout of jury duty, but you also run a risk of becoming a suspect of something yourself! Lol : )
The real way to get out of it is to say that it will cause you economic hardship if you miss a day of pay at work.

Use the excuse for why I’m not going to school today! I’m going to the dentist to get cavities filled.

Say you believe everyone who appears in court should get the death penalty (Good if this is a white collar crime, probably won’t work if it’s a gang banger). Failing that, pick your nose and answer the phone during selection.

You’ll have to respond the first day. But if you’re chosen for a panel, always remember that you may be prone to bias (not prejudice). e.g. criminal case; you could be bias towards cops and see them as sources of authority and put high value in their believability. No one would fault you if that is simply how you were raised.
Being prejudiced against them would not excuse you. I’ve seen people get stuck in cases that way. Reason: you’ll most likely see the evidence as more important than a cops testimony if you don’t like cops.
