Why and in what respects is The Godfather trilogy such a highly acclaimed series?
I’m only 17 years old so I wasn’t born during the time when they released this movie. I also don’t pay or care too much for movies that weren’t in my generation ( I know that’s so careless and apathetic on my part).

Anyway, I’ve heard numerous times that The Godfather trilogy, but especially I and II, are one of the best movies of all time. I don’t get and understand what makes these movies so good. Is it the acting? The movie direction and techniques? The story line and what it represents in that specific era?

Please provide a detailed answer to help me understand.

I can’t help you with why people like it because I think the Godfather is rubbish. Goodfellas is miles better. The best trilogy ever is the Infernal Affairs trilogy.
