Hi…i was staying at a friends place all of us were in between 14-17..4 girls and 3 boys. We had just got back from a trip to the creek..its frozen so we go skating..we brought our dogs..i had my 6 month old heeler, my friends had - 1 yr old dobie. 2 labs, a border collie, a cocker spanial, and a jack russel. When we got to my friends place, we just hung around in the basement, playing video games and such..we heard a loud bang..like glass shattering. The dogs started barking/growling. We told them to shush and we wanted to see if we could go upstairs and grab the phone without being seen…we couldnt. We hid in the back storage room in the basement..after about 5-10 mins he made his way down the stairs..the dogs were growling only now. When he opened the basement door, the black lab the dobie and the heeler…went after him..as far as we know…he got one or 2 bites from each of them..The dobie and the heeler got stabbed…they got stitched up and are doing okay. But what can happen from this situation? will the dogs be put down…me and Zoeys (dobie) and Zac (lab) owners are all worried they will be made to put them down….please help! No rude responsises

Riddle! Can you figure it out?
Ok, 3 guys are travelling cross country and they are staying at cheap motels along the way. The 3 of them book a room at this motel where they pay $30 for it.They get up to their room. The clerk realizes they were over charged and the room was only $25 so he gives the extra $5 to the bell boy and sends him to go give the refund. On the way to the room, the bellboy realizes that $5 won’t split evenly amoung the 3 men so he keeps $2 for himself and gives each guy a $1 refund.That means each guy only actually paid $9 for the room. $9 times the 3 guys is $27.The bellboy kept $2 for himself so that’s a total of $29. Where’d the other $1 go?

Good Job everyone the answer was pretty much straightforward. The men pay 30. Of that 30, 25 is held by the man behind the desk. Of the other 5, 3 is returned to the men and 2 is held by the bellboy.

It’s faulty logic. Here’s another way to think about it.

In the end, the three men payed 9 dollars each (totaling 27) for the room (at $25), plus the $2 "tip" to the bell boy. At this point, the three extra dollars mean absolutely nothing. It was given back to the three men to the three men. It’s still there in their pockets. There is no missing dollar, everything is accounted for.

In other words, the part that confuses people is when you say the $2 is part of what is left over after the men pay, when in fact it is part of the $27 that they paid. The only thing left over is the 3 dollars given back. 27 + 3 = 30. All the money is there.

Yes. The clerk has $25, the three men each had 1 dollar, and the bellboy has 2 dollars. The riddle is very misleading, but if you write it out in a different way you’ll understand. There was no other dollar in the first place, it is just the way the joke was written.

Have You Been Unfairly Dismissed Short of 12 Months Service?

There are very few rights extended to the employers either. If they make a mistake and take on the wrong person (and this very often happens), they only have twelve months to dismiss the person. I have seen the wrong person employed on many occasions due to the equal opportunities legislation that abounds. I totally disagree with you.

You’re wrong. If you are dismissed shortly after 12 months service, then you have virtually no rights either. Any trip to a tribunal would involve substantial costs on your behalf (no union would entertain your claim). Be careful, the employer almost always wins, you need to play the system.
To have any chance of success, i would guess the service would be in excess of 3 to 4 years.
